Mat Pilates combines movement with breath to build strength throughout the entire body, particulaly within the core muscles (stomach, back & pelvic floor).

Pilates can help to improve coordination, balance, flexibility, strength & body awareness. It works to tone, strengthen, lengthen & stretch the body, all while building a deeper mind-body connection.

Barre Pilates is performed using a barre and so mostly standing postures. As in mat Pilates we combine movement with breath to build strength throughout the entire body.

A typical 60 minute class will be formed of 30 minutes of standing exercises, followed by 15 minutes of mat core work, a 10 minute stretch & 5 minute relaxation.

In Yin Yoga we hold the poses for around 3-5 minutes in order to target our joints and connective tissue (fascia). This allows for a deeper stretch from within and for us to work with the energetic meridian lines throughout the body, helping to clear any blocked or stagnated energy.
We also work to move emotion held within our body, enabling us to release and let-go of what no longer serves us.
During the practice we become the observer of our thoughts, sensations & emotions, watching without judgement and allowing ourselves to simply be.

Hello I'm Vicky, founder of Shine Bright Wellbeing and lover of all things health and wellness. I began my journey as a young child, my Grandparents were avid Aromatherapists, always treating our minor ailments with the magical healing properties of essential oils, my Mum very much adopted this approach and had me blending oils from a very young age.
When I was 6 my Mum was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and with no western medicine cure, she began her journey of holistic healing, I would attend all her appointments with her, including weekly Meditation classes and Reiki healings, I would then "practice" these modalities on her when we got home. Deep down I guess I've always been a healer.
I later went on to study Aromatherapy at the University of Greenwich, obtaining a 1st Class Hons degree in Aromatherapy & Massage. This led me into the world of Clinical Research in the fields of Oncology, Mental Health & Stroke research.
Upon moving to Australia in 2014 with my Australian partner (now husband), I embarked on the journey of becoming a Yoga, Pilates & Meditation Teacher, as well as a Reiki Practitioner.
In 2022 our family (two kids in tow and the fur baby of course), made the journey back to the UK to be closer to my family.
Fast forward two years and our family is growing (with baby no. 3 on the way) and a new adventure, as we have now moved back to Australia - we've missed the sunshine, beaches and relaxed life style Australia offers our family!
So take this as your sign to live with no regrets, listen to your heart, take risks and always trust you're inner knowing, wherever that may take you! Remember life is an adventure and nothing is every permanent.
