Mat Pilates combines movement with breath to build strength throughout the entire body, particulaly within the core muscles (stomach, back & pelvic floor).
Pilates can help to improve coordination, balance, flexibility, strength & body awareness. It works to tone, strengthen, lengthen & stretch the body, all while building a deeper mind-body connection.

Barre Pilates is performed using a barre and so mostly standing postures. As in mat Pilates we combine movement with breath to build strength throughout the entire body.
A typical 60 minute class will be formed of 30 minutes of standing exercises, followed by 15 minutes of mat core work, a 10 minute stretch & 5 minute relaxation.

In Yin Yoga we hold the poses for around 3-5 minutes in order to target our joints and connective tissue (fascia). This allows for a deeper stretch from within and for us to work with the energetic meridian lines throughout the body, helping to clear any blocked or stagnated energy.
We also work to move emotion held within our body, enabling us to release and let-go of what no longer serves us.
During the practice we become the observer of our thoughts, sensations & emotions, watching without judgement and allowing ourselves to simply be.

About the event
A monthly Yin Yoga class working with the energy of the New Moon.
These monthly classes will help you harness and connect deeper to the energy of the New Moon and any subsequent planetary and star alignments. The class will focus on helping you to deeper understand how the energy of the moon, planets and stars may resonate in your life and how you may work with this energy. A beautiful and relaxing way to unwind after the week and nourish your mind, body & soul.
Each class incorporates the use of oracle cards, crystals and essential oils and all classes end with a relaxing foot massage.
No experience necessary, all welcome to attend!
Please note: The class will take place on the first floor and there is no lift available.
WHAT IS YIN YOGA?
Yin Yoga is a slower form of yoga often considered a moving meditation. Each pose is practiced in a lying or seated position and held for 3-5 minutes. The aim of Yin Yoga is to slow down, turn your focus inwards and target your joints and connective tissue (fascia). Yin Yoga also has a big focus on the emotional body, helping you to create more balance and move any stagnant or stuck energy and emotions.
All equipment is provided, including mats.
Please arrive in comfortable clothing, yoga pants or leggings are preferred.
Please also ensure you arrive 5 minutes early, the door is locked at 7.30pm, so you won't be able to enter after this time.
